Hardest Hitting Hammer in Class, Offering 11.7 Ft. Lbs of Impact Energy
January 2005 – DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, today announced the launch of the heavy-duty 1 7/8" SDS MAX combination hammer (D25701K). Designed with patent-pending features, the new 13-amp hammer offers maximum torque and vibration control, providing greater user control and comfort. The D25701K been designed to handle both drilling and demolition applications in the toughest of concrete.
The D25701K features a Complete Torque Control® (CTC) system, giving users two times more control than competitive hammers in bind-up situations. The CTC feature utilizes a patent pending 2-position clutch technology that allows the user to maximize control and torque while drilling. The first clutch position is set at 1/2 the force of standard rotary hammers, which makes the product much easier to control in bind-up situations and provides enough torque for 90 percent of all applications. When the clutch engages at this lighter setting, the user will feel half the kickback of standard hammers on the market today. The second clutch position is similar to most hammers on the market today and is designed for higher torque applications, such as large core drilling. For added safety, the CTC feature will automatically switch back to the first clutch position when the tool is plugged in.
Engineered to give the user the most comfortable drilling and chipping experience possible, the D25701K is built with a patent-pending SHOCKS Active Vibration Control ä system. The SHOCKS Active Vibration Control ä is a system of shock absorbers located between the handle and the hammer. This feature reduces the amount of vibration felt by users, increasing comfort and giving the hammer the lowest amount of vibration in its class. To further reduce user fatigue, the D25701K features a lock-on switch, while in chipping mode. As a safeguard, the unit will not operate when the switch is locked-on in drill mode.
The D25701K was engineered to increase the user’s overall productivity on the jobsite and offers users 11.7 ft. lbs. of impact energy, making it the hardest hitting hammer in its class. Additionally, the hammer features a soft-start feature that allows the bit to start drilling on contact for precise hole placement. The constant speed under load function allows the tool to maintain full performance even in deep hole drilling. A variable speed dial allows the user to match correct RPM/BPM to applications at hand.
DEWALT engineered the D25701K to reduce downtime for the user by making the tools easy to service. Service lights on the tool indicate when the brushes have eight hours of life remaining. The motor cap can easily be removed to replace worn brushes and cords and the black handle provides easy access to the switch. Additionally, the D25701K is backed by an extended two-year service warranty.
